April 23, 2007 - On behalf of Angelina Jolie, a U.S. adoption agency filed the necessary paperwork at the Bahama Magistrate’s Court yesterday for the adoption of Anna Nicole Smith’s baby, Dannielynn.
According to an exclusive investigation as reported by entertainment reporter Billy Hollywood, the development has put the brakes on the legal hearings that have taken place over the last few weeks. DNA tests that proved Los Angeles photographer Larry Birkhead was the biological father of the child and not his recent rival Howard K. Stern, whose name appears on the baby’s birth certificate has not deterred Jolie.
Outside of the Court the announcement stunned the crowd of about 250, who have been holding a vigil until the case is resolved. Lisa Miller, a candle bearing supporter of Howard Stern, expressed her dismay. “This whole thing is starting to feel like a soccer game, at some point I just wish someone would score and we could all go home.”
Friends of Angelina said she made the surprise visit to the island after a recent disappointing trip to Africa where she attempted to adopt the entire nation of Zaire. “When the Zaire adoption fell through, Angelina took it pretty hard,” one friend said, “she just was pacing back and forth mumbling ‘Your children, I want to buy your children’, it was pretty creepy.”
When asked about her shot at retaining custody of the child, sources inside the Bahamian government said they’re better than you think. A rarely cited law in the Bahamian Constitution allows for “special consideration” of adoption by American movie stars.
For now it’s the Bahama Courts, not the public, that have to decide the fate of young Dannielynn.
