I've 'totally forgotten' about my ex-girlfriend in that, I've given up on the thought that we would somehow get back together.  What can I say, I'm a quick learner.    I've been dating this awesome chick but here's the rub.. and isn't there always ?  I didn't fall madly in love with her right away... so I'm worried that maybe I'm with her because she's worn me out?  but that's not entirely fair, because I have truly grown to admire and respect her.  I really adore her and at this point I don't think 'it' will get any better.  'it' meaning, relationships.  She's really shown me that you need to be with someone who understands and accepts you for who you are above all.  So a question would be, is it possible to meet someone.. really like them.. then have it grow into love blah blah?  Is that possible w/out compromising this whole 'mad love' thing.  Growing to love someone sounds so boring...but also grounded, which by definition is boring.  ugh.  Better question, is it okay to fall in love with someone even if it wasn't 'love at first site'.  is this what it means to mature?  when you start realizing qualities like, dependability, trust, honesty take precedence over passion, lust and vulnerability.  Are they mutually exclusive, or can they all exist together.  What if they don't, what if one of them is missing.  Say you have the dependability, trust, honesty and adoration.... is that enough or do you keep holding out until you have it all...and or is there ever such a thing as, 'all'   I'm psycho.
