So s/he dumped you.  Maybe for the first time, maybe you've tried the relationship once before; either way you end up feeling pretty shitty. In fact, it really doesn't matter who dumped who - when feelings are hurt, both of you feel like crap.  I mean, one of you had to eventually buck up and make the break.  It's never fun to do.  So the question is, what did 'I' do wrong? 

You go through the final scene over and over in your head.  Did I say something wrong, maybe I did too much, maybe I called too much, 
maybe...maybe...maybe.  Maybe s/he likes someone else...but s/he told me s/he likes me...As the snot runs down your face mixing in with your tears, dribbling into your mouth you hit 'replay' and listen to Bono pine..."One Life You Gotta Do What You Should..." over and over again. 

Finally, you wake the phuck up and realize, hey maybe I didn't do anything wrong.  You realize that there is no use in driving yourself completely nuts and that the only toughts and actions you can control are your own.  There's no use in wondering why they don't call...they don't call because they have nothing to say to you.  And truthfully, you may have nothing to say to them.  Nothing of forward progress anyway.  So take some time to heal.

In the end, you need to realize that you have to be true to yourself.  There's no use in pretending to be someone you are not because eventually, they will find out the 'real you'. If you're someone who likes to call a few times a day...then that's who you are.  You can force yourself to not call, but eventually you'll want more...so you may as well dispense with trying to be who they want you to be, or who you think they want you to be and show the real you.  Basically, don't waste anybody's time, especially yours. 

So don't beat yourself up.  It doesn't matter how you treat someone, if they like you, they like you.  That one extra phone call that you made or that extra bit of attention you paid them, wasn't the reason they left you.  No one is to blame.
